Norman Railroad Station-Museum-Multiuse Community Center (36 images)
(For Marcie and Chris's wedding-site shopping) Norman's railroad station, built in 1909 and abandoned in 1979 when passenger rail service ended in central Oklahoma, was re-incarnated as a multi-purpose community facility. When Amtrack restored (very limited) service to Norman a few years ago, half the station returned to duty as a small passenger station, and the other half remained as a community center where small weddings, receptions, and anniversary parties are held. Close by are Coaches Restaurant, a pizza and Barbecue place, and Benvenuti's, an Italian restaurant in the facility which long ago housed the Norman-OKC-Edmond Inter-urban trolley station.
